Amy Astin, CAVS, CDVS, Vice President

Amy is a Shorter College graduate with a major in Communications/Marketing. She has been Director of Volunteer Services for Floyd Medical Center for 13 years. Previously she worked for the American Heart Association, Southeastern Cardiovascular Center, the Blueridge Area Health Education Center and Dignity Service Corporation (Funeral Services).

At Floyd Medical Center, she serves on the Leadership Team, the Value Compass Team, the Operations Council and the Ethics committee. She has been a member of GSDVS (Georgia Society for Directors of Volunteer Services) since 2003 and is a past president and conference chair. She has also served as the GA representative on the SHVL board.

Locally she is a long time member and past president of the Rome COVA (Council of Volunteer Administrators) and member of GAVA. Amy is the lay leader at Second Ave. United Methodist Church and is a certified lay speaker through UMC.

She is mother of two and a grandmother of two. As a former teacher and judge of baton twirling, she still enjoys the sport when appropriate.
