WHAT: “Issues Below the Belt,” a consumer education workshop for women to provide information about commonly experienced pelvic and bladder issues.

Sara Bolden

Sara Bolden, DPT, WCS

Dr. Sara Bolden is a licensed physical therapist and board-certified women’s health clinical specialist specializing in pelvic pain, urogynecologic disorders and pelvic floor dysfunctions. She is the first board-certified women’s health clinical specialist in Atlanta and metro-Atlanta region and started one of Atlanta’s exclusive pelvic floor rehabilitation practices devoted entirely to helping individuals with pelvic pain and pelvic floor disorders. Dr. Bolden is an alumnus of LSU receiving a BS in Biochemistry as well as Shenandoah University where she received her Doctor of Physical Therapy. Her doctoral research involved the development and validation of the Bolden Urinary Incontinence Questionnaire which uses subjective survey information to categorize and diagnose individuals with urinary incontinence (urge, stress, overflow and functional incontinence). In 2010, Dr. Bolden was nominated by her peers to participate in a national focus group to develop the Women’s Health Section of Hooked on Evidence. She is the founder of What a Girl Wants Seminars, speaking across the country to educate women on their bodies and help couples enhance their intimacy. Success with these seminars prompted the writing of her book, What a Girl Wants: The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex, which was published in February 2014.

Heather Quaile

Heather Quaile, DNP, APRN, WHNP-BC

Dr. Heather Quaile is a women’s health nurse practitioner and has been working in all aspects of women’s healthcare for over 17 years caring for women of all ages across the health-illness continuum. Heather received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Loyola University in Maryland and second Bachelors in Nursing from the University of Central Oklahoma. She went on to receive her Masters in Nursing with Honors, with a specialty in Women’s Health from Vanderbilt University. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Chatham University. She is NCC board certified in Women’s Health and licensed by the Georgia Board of Nursing. She has held roles in clinical practice and academia and is current faculty at Emory University in the women’s health nurse practitioner masters program. She is also serving to improve legislation in women’s healthcare as a GA state, nurse legislative liaison working with the Georgia Coalition of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. She is a peer editor for the journals, Women’s Healthcare: A Clinical Journal for Nurse Practitioners as well as AWHONN Nursing for Women’s Health. She is also on the educational committee for Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health.

Tara Thopmson

Tara Thompson, PhamD, VP Clinical Services, Innovations Compounding

Tara Thompson obtained her doctorate from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy in 2012, after receiving her Biomedical Science degree from Texas A&M University. She joined Innovation in 2012 to advance her clinical mindset by focusing on women’s health and pursue her love for compounding. Tara collaborates with providers and patients across the US who are interested or presently using compounded medications to treat women’s health. Her areas of expertise and extensive research include Female Sexual Dysfunction, Pelvic Health, and Hormone Replacement Therapy. She currently serves as the Vice President of Clinical Services at Innovation Compounding. When she’s not treating vaginismus or vulvodynia, Tara can be found cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Texas Aggies, indulging in some sort of outdoor activity, or just relaxing with her husband and sweet kids.
